We want to embark on a journey that will take us from the heart of Europe to the vibrant and diverse continent of Asia. Seriously? Yes, that’s the plan! Driving from Belgium to Asia is no small feat, but we are ready for the adventure of a lifetime. We long to explore places that we wouldn’t normally be able to visit, and to experience the freedom of driving in our own car. So of course Flo is able to join on this vague adventure!
As we prepare for this journey, we are reminded that the true beauty of travel lies in the unexpected moments, the chance encounters, and the spontaneous decisions that shape our experience. We have no set itinerary or strict schedule to follow, which allows us to be flexible and open to the opportunities that arise.
But… Why?
We are driven by the desire to discover new cultures and meet new people. We believe that there is so much to learn from the richness and diversity of Asian cultures. From the bustling streets of Bangkok to the serene landscapes of rural Vietnam, we are eager to immerse ourselves in the customs, traditions, and ways of life that make each place unique.
Not going to be easy
As we cross borders, we will encounter diverse landscapes, from the rolling hills of Europe to the vast deserts of Central Asia, and the towering peaks of the Himalayas. We will witness the changing architecture, from the grand cathedrals of Western Europe to the ornate temples of Southeast Asia. Each country, each region, each town, will offer something unique and unforgettable.
Of course, we know that this trip will not be easy. We will encounter obstacles along the way, from visa issues to language barriers to mechanical breakdowns. But we are ready to face these challenges head-on. We believe that the journey is just as important as the destination, and that the difficulties we will encounter will only make our experience richer and more rewarding. Currently, we don’t even have a route planned. And honestly, we don’t know if we ever will have!
Connections for life
Perhaps the most valuable aspect of this journey will be the people we meet along the way. Whether it’s a kind stranger who offers us a place to stay, a local guide who shares their stories and insights, or fellow travelers who become lifelong friends, the connections we make will be what truly enriches our experience. So we’re drawn to Asia not just because of its cultural richness, but also because of the kindness of its people. We have heard countless stories of the hospitality and generosity of Asians, and we want to experience it for ourselves. We believe that the kindness of strangers can be a powerful force, and that it can create connections that transcend language, culture, and borders.
Embracing the unknown
We are aware that driving from Belgium to Asia is not a common or easy route to take, but that’s what makes it all the more exciting. It’s a journey that will require patience, perseverance, and a willingness to embrace the unknown. But the rewards of this adventure will be priceless – the memories, the experiences, the personal growth – will stay with us for a lifetime.
So in the end, we know that driving from Belgium to Asia will be an adventure that we will never forget. It will push us out of our comfort zones, challenge us to learn and grow, and connect us with people and places that we never would have encountered otherwise. We are ready for the journey, and we can’t wait to see where the road takes us.
