Excitement shared

dubbels the joy

A s I embarked on a journey with my father to South Africa, I felt an overwhelming sense of excitement and wonder. We were going to travel around the coastline and visit Kruger National Park, a place I had only ever dreamed of. For me, the safari was the one thing I was looking forward to the most.
I couldn’t imagine how unreal it would be to be surrounded by such magnificent creatures.

Unexpected encounter

Driving through Kruger with the best music on, my heart skipped a beat as we unexpectedly encountered hyenas. I couldn’t contain my excitement, I just went crazy. As we continued on the safari, we saw all sorts of animals. Lion cubs, with their cute little paws and innocent eyes, made my heart melt. Witnessing a jaguar fight with a hyena for survival was thrilling and intense. We stayed at a lovely safari lodge where we could hear the animals calling out to each other at night. It was both beautiful and a little frightening.

As we continued on the safari, I was struck by how each animal had its own unique characteristics and habits. I learned about the social dynamics of different animal groups and how they interacted with each other. Seeing these animals in their natural habitat, free to roam and explore, made me feel more connected to the world around me. Furthermore, being surrounded by such incredible wildlife made me realize how important it is to protect these animals and their habitats. It was heartbreaking to think that some of the animals we saw were endangered, and it made me appreciate the work being done by conservationists and organizations to protect these animals.

Seeing these animals in their natural habitat, living and thriving, is a humbling experience. It reminded me of how small we are in the grand scheme of things, and how much we should value the natural world around us.

One of the most precious parts of the trip was witnessing my father’s joy. He was happy not because he saw the animals himself, but because he saw me so truly happy. It made me feel privileged to be able to travel with him and create memories that will last a lifetime.

In the end, the safari was a journey of self-discovery and appreciation. It allowed me to connect with nature in a way that I never had before, and reminded me of the beauty and complexity of our world. I returned home with a newfound appreciation for the natural world and a deeper sense of gratitude for the experiences I’ve been fortunate enough to have.
