our tips for
Beginners
If you have never traveled long distance before, here are some tips on how to get started and how to make sure your trip is nice and safe. But please, don't forget: ‘Don't plan too much!’ Leave some room for surprises and have faith, it ‘ll give you wings!
How to choose your destination
Choosing destinations is a very important and super fun task. Set a destination, but don’t be to fixed on the endpoint because it’s all about the journey!
Live in the moment
Sometimes things don’t turn out as planned. Road blocks, difficult or impossible border crossings, areas that should be avoided or simply no available parking spots,… The list is endless of what can go ‘wrong’. Or maybe you just don’t feel like visiting another ancient church as you planned in front but feel like you want to have some fun at some festival that is going on. That’s the beauty of travelling with your home on wheels. Just turn around and go for whatever makes you happy and enjoy the moment.
Be realistic, consider changing plans
Sometimes things happen not the way we plan them. No worries, there are always alternatives that might be even better! Sometimes the best trips are the ones you didn’t plan at all. Great contradictory advice, right?
Meet the locals
Local people are the key. They are able to give your journey the direction that unexpectedly makes it even more wonderful. They offer help in times of need or good advice and useful information on the area you’re visiting. Almost all of the people you meet will have good intentions. Even that weird looking fellow probably has a heart of gold… There is human kindness everywhere.
