Captain Smut brings low down folk/country and was born out of the need for self expression while living a nomadic lifestyle.
Living on the road, the metaphor with life’s road is never far away.
The music seems to balance on the verge of despair, but never crashes down to the rocks.
Just like life’s hardships are always temporary.
After all, the beauty of life lies in it’s contradiction.
The never ending dance between darkness and light, joy and pain and of course life and death itself. Life would have no significance if it wasn’t for death.
Or is it the other way around?
The troubled troubadour sings sad songs.
Songs about dark days and heartaches.
About leaving and grieving.
About losing faith and bearing hate.
Dedicated to those who
ran out of luck and have given up.
